This is a very interesting elegant early BRACKET CLOCK, signed in the front
JOHN DRURY, LONDON
in a very fine excellent quality. Mahagony veneered bell top case with wooden
frets to the side apertures. Carrying brass handle on top. Brass frets around the
lock.
The brass dial has above in the arch one small dial for strike /silent and one for
fast/ slow for pendulum adjustment with a well matted centre. The silvered main
chapterring with Roman numerals and Arabic outer numerals has also a nice
matted centre and beautifully engraved brass frets in the four courners. There is
a date aperture above 6 o`clock, also fine engraved hands in steel.
The eight day bell striking movement has a fantastic engraved backplate. It has
five knopped pillars, verge escapement. It strikes the hours on the bell.
