A Microsoft products expert with in-depth knowledge and expertise in Microsoft developer technologies.
Ability to architect a solution by mapping a customer’s business problem to an end-to-end technology solution.
Technical depth and breadth in the Windows platform.
Deep technical knowledge of and experience of Windows client design, configuration and deployment technologies and a good understanding of client integration into and management within a Windows Server environment.
Technical knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
Windows Client
Design, planning and execution of Windows XP based desktop deployments and/or migrations from competitive desktops.
Associated deployment technologies including experience in SMS 2003, BDD, RIS, Imaging processes, SysPrep, scripting.
Windows XP configuration, customization and management within domain and workgroup environments.
Group Policy design and implementation, including testing, for desktop management, lockdown and customization.
Troubleshooting of Windows XP deployments and configurations.
Application compatibility testing and rectification of problems with legacy applications.
Desktop security configuration.
o Windows Server
Design and implement enterprise wide infrastructure solutions based on Windows Server
Design, planning and execution of Active Directory implementation and/or migrations, covering multiple sites, large numbers of users, low-bandwidth / branch office locations etc.
Design and implement enterprise wide infrastructure solutions based on or covering
ADAM, SUS, ADS, RMS, GPMC etc
DHCP, DNS, WINS, IPSec, RADIUS, RAS and associated services.
Design, planning and execution of migration plans from competitive infrastructure platforms would be desirable
Design and implementation of Group Policy solutions for management, security and operations.
Advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution skills in the areas of Windows Servers, including IIS, application servers and network troubleshooting.
Windows Terminal Services design and deployment
o Windows embedded design and deployment
o Exchange & Messaging
§ Design & implementation of enterprise wide messaging infrastructure/solutions based on Exchange 2000 or 2003. Solutions should ideally cover multiple network sites & multiple business units within an organization.
§ Design, planning & execution of messaging migration plans from competitive messaging platforms (e.g. Lotus Notes)
§ Design & implementation of large-scale / high-throughput messaging architectures, demonstrating skills in network bandwidth analysis/network design, disk architecture design, server capacity planning.
§ Expert troubleshooting skills in Exchange 2000/2003 & Outlook 2000/2003
§ Implementation of one or more mobility components of Exchange 2003, including OWA, OMA, Server ActiveSync.
