Genuine European Portraits is a dynamic and enthusiastic company that renders hand-drawn portraits of children, from school photography that we take.
The main office is located in Sant Andreu, Barcelona and its branches in Edinburgh, Scotland and New Jersey, USA.
We only conduct business in the United Kingdom —all the country— and the East Coast of the United States, from Massachusetts to Florida. Our group is formed by approximately eighty five people. Almost fifty of them in Barcelona and the rest abroad.
We are looking for an Assistant to the Financial Director whose main duties will be, but not limited to:
Review and approve the Profit and Loss statements —mostly prepared by others— for each of the three companies that form the group Genuine European Portraits.
When new computer systems are implemented, parallel follow up until satisfactory approved.
Bank transactions in the US and UK, payments, expenses control.
Small and not so small administrative duties in the US, mainly regarding different taxes and official forms.
Prepare the monthly report that is seen on a Mangers’ Meeting. Participate in this meeting with their evaluation and recommendations.
The requirements we have are:
Finished ADE degree in Spain.
Fluent English both, written and spoken.
Qualified user of Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet and an accounting programme.
This is an ideal position for an ADE bachelor with no experience but good grades in University and a wish to be exposed to the daily tasks and duties of a PYME, including “picar piedra”.
The candidate must like to work hard and be precise with numbers, enjoy travelling and be able to do it as needed. Travel is mainly to New Jersey.
We understand this is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to learn, but we wouldn’t interview people that are not committed to at least three years of this fun hard work. Valuable learning and practical experience would be earned in financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation in the United States, market practices in the United States, banking abroad, currency futures and exchange insurance, and many other areas, all of this from a PYME point of view.
